I went back to my room after I spent a few minutes with Kaelan, telling him how great a leader he was even without being very brutal. But he still insisted on going back to his ruthless Alpha status.
I was working on another sweater, a pink turtleneck sweater for a baby girl. Knitting has become my hobby and I like the way it keeps my hands busy.
That way, I won’t worry about everything Kaelan and I had been through.
I didn’t look up when I heard someone opening the door. Kaelan’s scent always told me when he was around.
When he walked in, his boots didn’t make a sound against the floor but I could feel his presence.
“Luna,” he called me with a husky voice.
I looked up. He was dressed in his usual dark tunic, fitted black pants, and a leather belt that held his dagger. His long hair was tied back in a low knot, but a few strands had escaped, brushing against his sharp jawline.
Without a word, he walked over and plucked the knitt
