Ramon POV
“We arranged for a professional,” Rodriguez said quietly. “An escort. Someone discreet who could help you through the d***s without it turning into a scandal. But Ramon, you ran. Before they arrived, you managed to get out of the room. We spent eight hours looking for you.”
Eight hours. I had no memory of those hours. Nothing. Just a blank space where time should be.
“We found you eventually,” Marcus continued. “In a park, mostly coherent but with no memory of where you’d been or what you’d done. And—” He hesitated.
“And what?” I pressed.
“And you smelled like omega,” Rodriguez finished. “Strongly. Like you’d been close to one, maybe intimate with one. But there was no one around. Just you, alone, confused, not remembering anything.”
The implications of what they were saying started to sink in, but I pushed them away. This was crazy. This was impossible.
