Ramon POV
“You’ll have them by tomorrow morning,” I said firmly. “First thing. I promise.”
“That’s what you said yesterday,” Marcus countered. “And the day before that. Ramon, I understand you’re going through something, but this is business. Either you can handle it or you can’t. If you can’t, maybe we need to reconsider this partnership.”
The threat was clear. And normally, I would have pushed back, would have reminded Marcus that our company was doing him a favor by partnering at all. But right now, I didn’t have the energy for corporate posturing.
“You’ll have the contracts by tomorrow morning,” I repeated. “That’s my final answer. If that’s not good enough, then we can discuss alternative arrangements.”
I hung up before he could respond, then leaned against the wall and took a shaky breath. Everything was falling apart. My family, my work, my sanity. I couldn’t seem to hold onto anything.
