Ramon POV

“Inside,” my mother commanded, her voice cutting through the panic with the authority of someone who’d raised four alpha sons. “Get them both inside now. Rosa, call Dr. Martinez. Tell him it’s an emergency involving a child.”

I reached down and physically lifted Lake to his feet, keeping one arm around him because I wasn’t sure he could stand on his own. Romeo was there immediately, helping to support Lake while Lake clutched his unconscious son.

“He’s still breathing,” Rhodes said, his doctor instincts kicking in even as he held his own traumatized mate. “Lake, he’s breathing. He just passed out from stress. His body shut down to protect itself.”

We moved as a group toward the house, Lake stumbling between Romeo and me, his eyes never leaving Ollie’s face. Behind us, Michelle was corralling the other children, trying to shield them from seeing Ollie unconscious and Lake falling apart.
