Chapter 59. The Alpha's Life

“This doesn’t make any sense,” Venus said at the hospital.

Jeff and Marcel were being treated at the big hospital in the next town. The entire pack house went up in flames. When the fire department managed to get there the fire was too strong to combat. The fire demon ate the whole place. The firefighters didn’t stand a chance.

“That’s what happened,” I told her.

Loki sat next to me.

“How do shifters fail to break down a door?” Venus questioned as she paced the waiting area.

“We all tried. Even the cocky Alpha Riven failed to kick the door down. The fire was moving fast so we couldn’t all take a whack at it.”

“This has magic written all over it. No one came to the pack house today. How did they do it?” Venus questioned again.

Loki raised his shoulders. “Might as well start investigating now because when Marcel’s better he’ll want answers.”
