Chapter 77. Battlefield

Xavier rode on his horse to meet up with Sir Valerio and Alpha Koz, who were already at the black cove. He was sitting on his horse and staring off into the distance at the army marching towards them.

“Klean allies never came; I had to leave,” Xavier said as his horse came to stand beside the quiet Sir Valerio and Alpha Koz.

“Then we have no choice but to fight with what we have.” Sir Valerio answered, his eyes fixed ahead.

Xavier, at this moment, wished Edward was here with him. He was always the optimistic one in times like this, and he would have been an advantage to them, especially since their numbers were lower than what they had capitalised on. With Edward in their corner, they would have gained an advantage. Still, they had to carry on fighting the fight as if Edward were with them.

“What are the odds that we win this battle?” Xavier asked, with curiosity in his voice.

“Risky odds. They have the numbers, both riders and foot soldiers,” he said,
