Chapter 76. The Darkness Manifested

“He looks worse, and the king said dead or alive. Since he’s as good as dead, I might as well finish the job.” the guard said and stepped towards Alpha Zayn, but Zayn launched his limping self at the guard, growling loudly, and before the guard could fight him off, he thrust his claws into the man’s chest, seeking out his heart. As soon as his hand came in contact with the throbbing heart, he yanked it out, and the guard fell to the ground, choking on his blood. Alpha Zayn fell to the floor tired, and the guards ran over him to subdue him and Eai on the floor.

“Take off his head!” A guard commanded.

“Rip his heart out!” another said, his voice louder than the first.

Suffocated and crushed by the weight of many on him, Zayn’s lashes fluttered, and his mind began wandering into oblivion.

“That’s not how to fight fair, is it? Or is this how your coward of a king taught you to fight wounded men at a disadvantage?” Edward asked, stepping out from behind the trees.
