Chapter 28. Happy Place
I had expected Devyn to show up at some point, but he never did. I was relieved, although I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment each time Lucia’s knock didn’t turn out to be his.
Wilona and Liam hadn't come to visit either, and that was for the best because I was still mad at them and wouldn’t be able to control my words.
I felt defenseless and the reality that I couldn't do anything weighed heavy on me. Running away would be pointless, as I’d still get caught, or worse, kidnapped or killed by potential enemies.
I was starting to think the lather was the better option.
I hadn't had any dreams or visions of any sort, leaving me alone with nothing but my thoughts and an overwhelming sense of loneliness and emptiness.
As morning arrived, the sun’s rays began to seep into the room.
