Chapter 52
Ruby’s POV
“We had a misunderstanding, and I would like to resolve it, but Joel is very skilled at avoiding me,” Shane said.
“Well, he doesn’t want to fix it. So stop bothering him, Gamma,” Ael said, sounding annoyed. Shane wanted to say something, but his lips pressed into a thin line as he fell behind, sulking. I glanced back at Beth and saw Tate walking silently beside her. They both looked upset.
We arrived at a restaurant complex and entered a Japanese restaurant of Joe’s choice. Shane raced to sit next to Joe before Ael could. “Gamma Shane is acting so fucking weird,” Ael murmured as he took a seat next to Manon.
“So are Beth and Tate,” I squinted my eyes at them.
“Everyone is acting weird,” grumbled Manon.
A tall waiter with shiny dark hair and an easy-going smile walked over to us. I noticed he and Joe exchanged a slight knowing smile as they eyed each other. Is he the reason Joe loves to come here? Shane glared at the waiter.
