Ruby’s POV
Before I could realize it, warriors spread out, protecting themselves and each other while searching for the assailants. Zylon was taking me away from the scene while Hayes ran toward the attack.
“Zylon, wait!” Our warriors were falling, struck by sharp silver arrows, yet we couldn’t see anyone attacking. They were likely hiding in the trees. I was proven right when I saw Haye’s body hit a dense tree, and two archers tumbled to the ground.
“I can help. I can create a shield to protect everyone.” As I spoke, I could see his gaze darting around, assessing the chaos that surrounded us. Each time an adversary targeted us, he deftly intercepted the arrow with agility and precision.
“Trees! They are attacking from the trees! Shake all the trees until the attackers fall,” Hayes shouted urgently. The warriors did as the alpha commanded, but many were still hit, and the attackers were numerous and unseen.
