Chapter 17. Remembering Silverlake
“Well……..he was on a business trip to northern Asia when I was called to serve him. I was but a young lad then, and I served under him for just a short period. He was the alpha of a pack then. Silver……”
“Silverlake.” I felt tears rush to my eyes as I remembered my father. It had been too long since I had last saw him and now I was scared because I didn’t know where he was and why he hadn’t tried to reach me. I didn’t know what had happened to him.
“Yes. How is he doing now?”
I bowed my head and allowed the tears drop onto my lap. “He…….he is missing. I think he is missing. My uncle says he is away on a business trip but………”
“But you believe he is lying. I think I remember seeing your uncle on one or two occasions. He seemed like a cunning man. I don’t think your father would have gone on any trip without informing you. I was a bit perplexed when I learnt you had been sent here to be a mate to a rogue……..” Manu
