Chapter 23. Family or Foe?

“The pack laws prevent one relative from restricting the rights of another if I remember correctly. You do not need to accept us in your hearts but while we are here we deserve to be treated properly and given a shelter within the castle.”

Pause.

“Anthony, throw them out……….”

“No Ryder.” Daphne stopped her son. She held his hand and looked at him. “We can’t do that. If indeed they are relatives they are entitled to an opportunity to stay in the pack.”

“They are entitled to nothing mother, only I get to decide that……..”

“We can’t go against pack laws. They will be given a room here………” she turned to look at me. “…………in the castle. When they are finished with their business though they will leave.”

I smiled cockily. “Sure we will.”

Ryder smiled back too. He then got up and helped his mother stand and together the made their way out of the room. The guards and every other person also walked out of the room until it was just me and Lucas
