I had gotten information that Felix’s men had come to my home to raid it. They were too late though, good thing I hadn’t waited till the next day on the night I had gotten the documents to leave Paca. And now we were on our way to the far ends of Europe where the rest of my family was waiting for me.

I wondered what had happened with Lovette and Manuel, had they gotten away. I couldn’t help but be surprised at myself and how I had helped them before I left. Some weeks ago I wouldn’t have even bothered about them. I wouldn’t have bothered about helping a bunch of peasants.

But at the point when my freedom was in sight I was so happy and so excited that I just had to take others with me, even if it was just one person and the need to help kicked in.
