Helena looked at the trail leading to the mountainous region, holding her bundle and continuing to walk. Each step was cautious, as the area seemed dangerous. As she climbed, the cold air hit her face, making her tremble uncontrollably. She kept ascending the trail for what seemed like hours, higher and higher.
Helena gasped and looked at the horizon, the entire Crow Island stretching before her—nearly frozen forests, deep and vast, cities, and villages. The wind was strong enough that she had to keep her feet firm on the slippery, frozen ground. Despite the name "Ice Mountains," they were not entirely covered in ice.
The princess climbed the trail until the sunlight no longer offered support, and only the moonlight illuminated her path. She was forced to stop; her wound, although healing, began throbbing. She bent over with her hands on her knees, breathing deeply. The night's air was even more intense than the daytime.
