Chapter 83
When Helena felt James's arms wrap around her, she thought she might faint. She could feel his lips on hers, and although she had taken the step to do this to embarrass Lance and send him a message, she felt completely miserable. The longing for John hurt deeply.

"I wonder when this romance happened," Lance said, giving Helena one last look before he left.
Lee looked at the two.
"I know you love John, and I know you, James, are loyal to him, but let me be very clear with you. I know what you are and what John has. I've spent all this time deciding whether I should kill you or not, but I've decided against it. That wouldn't do John any good. A word of advice if you want to keep suitors away," then the Elder looked at James, "sleep with her. Mark her with your essence."
