I closed my eyes and let out a shaky sigh, trying to calm myself so whatever was rising to the surface would sink back down. When I finally opened my eyes again, I felt a little lighter—still shaken, but in control.
“Are you sure you haven’t shifted?” Randy asked again, watching me closely.
“No,” I replied plainly.
Right now, I just wanted to leave. The man who planned to reject me was staring at me like he was seeing me for the first time, and I didn’t want to remain in that room another second.
“You… you beast,” Alan croaked from the floor. I sighed, tired of everything.
“I’ll be leaving,” I announced to whoever cared enough to listen, and this time no one stopped me. I walked straight out of the mansion.
