Chapter 36. Expression of Emotions

Berton's POV

We lay there for a while, simply noting each other's company. It felt like a dream, and I didn't want it to end. But eventually, we were going to have to get up and prepare for what was coming. As we got dressed, I couldn't stop thinking about how lucky I was to have Emily in my life. I watched her as she moved around the room. 

The joy of just seeing her made me smile to myself. I remembered those years when my life had nothing but hell. Her grace and kindness made me feel for her even more. 

"Emily," I said as we finished getting ready. "How about we go out for breakfast? A light breakfast. There's a lovely café nearby, and I'd love to take you there."

I suggested. 

She smiled at me, considering it for a while before she replied. "That sounds wonderful, Berton. I'd love to go."
