Chapter 95. Big Misunderstanding

Emily's POV

"What is it that you wanted to talk about?" I asked, looking at her, with my hand crossed over my chest. I had no hostile feelings towards her, I was just tired. I had cried my eyes out earlier, forcing myself to come out of the shock of Berton being hit by the car. I couldn't believe that he had been hit instead of me.

Everything happened so quickly that I was still stunned by it. I watched her move closer. Her eyes were blank but she looked calm. Whatever she had to say, I just hoped that it wouldn't be one of those things all typical wives do, calling me out for causing her husband to act strangely because if it was going to be something like that then I had no interest in partaking.

She could continue without me because I had no intention of being with her husband. He was hers, and I didn't want anything from him because he might just take my child away from me. My heart clenched with the thought of losing him as well.<
