Chapter 10. Anything for Her

 Alpha Zane's POV 

 The expression on the rejected Alpha's face is priceless.

 I can hardly hold back a grin. 

The boy was clearly not here with the intention of having an innocent dance with my mate. He'd noticed him following her with lustful eyes all evening. He has his sights set on Mercedes. If that is really the case, he has another thing coming. I am well prepared for evil hawks like him, who would set their eyes on what belongs to me. I have spent years researching the development of young girls during puberty. Look, I'm a man, I only have experience with how boys transform into men. So I did my studies, talked to elders, put my sister to work, and spent hundreds of evenings on the Internet gathering information.

 That's inherent in having a young, growing up mate. I learned that girls go through hormonal changes early on and, silly as they are, attract the attention of guys who, in turn eagerly await their first sex. Their focu
