Chapter 10
The night had fallen over the city of Manhattan, and yet it seemed that it was just beginning to come to life, groups of teenagers everywhere she looked, the occasional couple on the streets, the nocturnal beings were many, more than Emma imagined in the first place, Stealthily and dressed in black leggings and a sweatshirt of the same color, she slipped into the hotel parking lot, there were some parked cars, most of them belonged to employees and she frowned, that day the employees of that weekend shift were supposed to be few, it would be the most normal thing but in this case it almost seemed as if it was a crowd.
She tied her hair in a high ponytail, looked for the emergency exit door with her eyes, located it in an instant near the elevator, gave a quick look around, and after checking that there were no “monkeys on the coast,” she hurried towards her goal.
It’s now, or never, she thought as she felt a cold sweat
