Megan's POV

“I told you Adam is mine; now you’re dead,” I whispered in her ear and was pleased when her face paled.

I turned away from her and looked at Adam who still looked pleased.

“Hey, I’m really tired,” I faked a yawn. “I think I’ll go to bed early.”

“I’ll join you in a moment,” Adam hastened to say.

I stopped, feeling the anger rising inside me.

“Suit yourself,” I tried not to grunt. “And by the way, thanks for picking me up at school.”

Yeah, I’m fucking spiteful, so what? Sure, I understand what happened in the morning, but had he cared so little about sending someone to pick me up? He’d probably been too busy planning his honeymoon with Terra.
