Malachi’s POV

The police commissioner stands up the moment he sees me and he extends his hand for a shake which I readily accept. Odette’s brothers and my lawyers are outside, I will prefer to meet him on my own for now.

“I am glad you came as soon as you got the call, sir” he says.

“Tell me, what’s the status?”

“Apparently Mr. Zachary has evidence portraying you as the killer of his assistant. A voice recording where you were talking about the body and also a picture of you near the body before it was taken to the crematorium as per your request”

I can’t help but scoff, Zachary is as sly as a fox, I should really give him that.

“The police are working on analyzing the voice recording to know if you actually said it but ideally, an arrest warrant was put out for you and that’s why I called”

“Do you think I killed her?”

“Of course not sir” he gives an awkward laugh, “I don’t believe that sir, it’s just the situation right now”
