Chapter 27. The Funeral

Her uncle, aunt, and two cousins were already in the cemetery. However, no other family members were present. Amy saw some of her parents’ friends, a few of her parents’ colleagues and staff, and reporters there. When the reporters recognized her, they chased her like dogs ran after a bone.

“Miss Brooke, what will happen after this? Since your parents chose your uncle as the successor of their business, what will you do? Will you sue the will?”

Then another asked, “I heard your sister is still in the hospital. How is she?”

Tom sneered to see that and did nothing to ask them not to bother his niece. Becky Brooke, Amy’s aunt, wanted to approach Amy and helped her deal with the reporters, but Tom stopped his wife by shaking his head.

It was Richard Anderson, her parents’ friend, who finally scolded the reporters. “She is grieving. Don’t bother her!”

Some reporters were silent, but a few others still chased Amy. Richard couldn’t stand it anymore.
