Chapter 28. Shopping, Cooking, and Waiting

Amy didn’t need to wait for long. Ten minutes later, Miguel entered the small restaurant. He spotted her immediately and nodded. “Ready to go home, miss?”

“Yes, but I’ll call Samuel first.”

Miguel opened the SUV car door for Amy. Samuel instructed him not to use a fancy car today so no one would notice it. As they needed to stay low key to make Tom off his guard. Amy called Samuel, but he didn’t pick up his phone. She wondered if he was busy, but then, when she was about to call him again, he called back. 

“Darling, have you arrived home yet?” His low and gentle voice greeted her. 

“Not yet, but Miguel just picked me up. I want to ask if you will have dinner at home. I want to cook for you.”

Samuel grinned and hummed. “I’ll go home early, then. Thank you, my sweet. I can’t wait to see you soon.”

“What do you want to eat?”

“Anything. I will eat anything you cook.”

“Okay, then.
