Chapter 40. John Beck

Amy already went to hand in her resignation letter. Miguel drove her to her workplace. Samuel called the detective to send the evidence. When the courier sent a thin folder, he tipped the man a hundred dollars and rushed to bring the folder to his working room. 

Opening the folder, he read one by one. After finishing reading it all, he took a deep breath, thinking about what steps he would do to ensure the highest revenge impact. Then he called John Beck, the lawyer. 

“Mr. Beck, it’s Samuel Hoffner. I recently married Amy Brooke. I believe her late parents were your clients.”

“Mr. Hoffner, yes, it’s true. I’m still their lawyer. In fact, Mr. Tom Brooke continues using my service as a lawyer for the Jewelry Palace.”

Samuel grinned. Rubbing his chin, he continued, “I see. I wonder if you can meet me at a cafe an hour from now? I have something to discuss with you, and I will send the address by text.”
