Chapter 47. It’s His Turn

The informants and guards whom Samuel hired could see what happened. They scratched their hair and shrugged as they suspected the worst. 

“Our boss won’t like this,” one informant said.

“Hey, but there may be a good explanation for this. Mrs. Hoffner doesn’t seem like a foolish woman to me. You must see when she looked at our boss. I think she loves him. So, I’m sure there is a good explanation for this.”

The first man rubbed his jaw. “It’s true. Also, I can see how much our boss loves his wife. I was shocked at first to know he was married. But then, after seeing her, I can see how suitable both of them are together.”

“Hmm? How?”

“Well, you know, our boss is wealthy and powerful. He is handsome too. While our madam is young and quite pretty. She is nice and kind. I wonder if her appearance or character attracted our boss.”
