Chapter 42. Shocking News

After telling Kelly she wanted to resign, Amy said goodbye to all. She didn’t tell Kelly anything about her marriage, and Kelly accepted her resignation well. Amy bought a newspaper from a stand nearby the cafe and checked the news. She was lucky that the reporters didn’t have her close-up photo. The only photo they posted was the intimate kissing photo that didn’t show her face. 

Miguel drove her to the hospital. The nurse who worked in the afternoon shift smiled at her. 

“Ms. Brooke, how are you? Oops, sorry, it’s Mrs. Hoffner now, right? Congratulations!”

Amy blushed and smiled to hear what the nurse said. “Yes, I’m Mrs. Hoffner now. How is Jillian?”

“The condition is still the same.”
