Chapter 46. A Bitter Pill to Swallow

Amy stared at Samuel and asked, “Who are the ones you considered as my enemies?”

Samuel shrugged. “Well, for sure, your uncle. He has been taken care of. Then, Gwen Johnson, you don’t need to think about her either. I have given her a lesson. But then, I’m surprised to see karma works even better than my plan.”

“What did you do?” 

“Well, it’s enough to say that I wanted to give her a lesson, so she wouldn’t make trouble with you anymore. The last thing I heard is she wanted to ruin your name.”

“What?!” Amy gasped. “But I have done nothing bad to her. Even after catching her with Jacob, I didn’t take revenge on her.”

He let out a sigh and hugged Amy. Caressing her hair, he said, “You are too kind, darling. That’s why people can take advantage and trample on you.”

“I believe everything will have a consequence, whether it is good or bad. I believe when we do good, then goodness will return to us. However, if we do bad things, we will pay for it too.”<
