Chapter 68. Dante & Dutton Have Arrived

Amelie’s POV

No matter what happens to me, I feel so safe close to Nathan. On the ride home from the frat house, Nathan drove mostly with one hand. His other hand was holding my hand. His touch seemed to make everything better.

“I think we should cancel the engagement party,” Nathan said. “Grandfather can just have the party be his winter holiday party.”

“No,” I responded.

“Amelie, you’ve been through a very traumatic experience,” He spoke while stroking the back of my hand. “I don’t want to put additional pressure on you.”

“Nathan,” I sighed, “I want to go to the party. I want to announce our engagement in front of friends, family, and a bunch of people I don’t know.” I stated.

“Are you sure?” Nathan asked.

“I’m positiv
