“Let her in,” Carrington called down to the door.

They stepped apart to let the woman through.

“It’s about time,” she spat out and sashayed her way across the floor, grabbing a glass of champagne from a passing waiter. Everything about her screamed rich. She was dressed in a tight gold lame dress and paired it with Louboutin stiletto heels. You could tell she was classically beautiful, but she had obviously undergone plastic surgery to counteract the natural aging process.

“Carrington, please go on with your speech,” she announced.

“Vivian, to what do we owe the honor of your presence?” Carrington asked.

“Here to support my dear father-in-law, of course,” Vivian replied. “Please do go on.” She said and took a drink of her champagne.
