We made it up to the second floor by the elevator. It sounded as if people were already starting to arrive for the party because I could hear the din of chatter from the floor below as we entered the second-floor hallway.

“So most of this floor is bedrooms and bathrooms,” I advised.

“Which was your room, Nathan?” Amelie asked.
