Chapter 6
“Surprise!! Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday to you...”
A smile stretched across my lips as the sweet voices of my triplets filled the room.
My eyes fluttered open, welcoming the soft rays of the morning sun. And there they were—my three little miracles, stepping carefully into my bedroom, their small hands balancing a chocolate cake that looked far too big for them to carry.
The rich aroma of chocolate filled the room, making my lips water before chasing the remnants of sleep from my eyes. My kids knew I loved chocolate. Had they baked this themselves? At what time?
A chuckle erupted from the hallway even before their nanny appeared at the doorway. Mrs. Chukwuemeka and I exchanged amused glances before I dragged my gaze to the bedside clock.
It was 6:30 AM.
