Chapter 52

"Should I apologize for what happened?" Carlton asked Stacy after she arrived, a few hours later than her usual hours because she was called in by the hospital.

He had observed that she didn't seem to be in a very good mood when she entered, and had been struggling to keep up with her usual collected demeanor. She was obviously bothered by something.

"No. No, don't," Stacy almost stuttered upon her words, deeply bothered by the encounter that she had with Marilyn earlier that morning, that all the excitement and enthusiasm she had towards seeing Carlton had been extinguished.

Though enamored by this good-looking man that was standing before her, Stacy could not help but wander and bother endlessly about everything that went on in her office, and Marilyn's words.

'What did she mean that she had something important to tell him? And that she was going to get him back? What was going on?' Stacy bothered again, still unable to get the scenario out of her head.
