Chapter 56

Regina was watching some comedy skits to take her mind off of all that had happened recently when Giannis walked into their bedroom.

She didn’t want to admit to herself that she was actually waiting for him to have dinner together, so she decided to distract herself a bit.

“What’s so funny, love?” Giannis asked in a deep voice as he walked up to her where she lay in bed.

Giannis approached her like some sort of jungle cat, cornering its prey. He had a weird look on his face, and she couldn’t quite place a finger on what exactly was wrong.

“You’re back,” she smiled, staring into his black orbs. In them, she could see a particular emotion. Was it yearning or need, she wasn’t even sure.

“It’s just a comedy skit. I’ve been working all day since Mom and Sandra left. What is the matter, you look troubled?” She asked.

Giannis didn’t say a word in response to her question. Instead, he took her face in his hands and kissed her briefly on the lips.
