Chapter 354
“Objection!” Brody’s response was immediate. “Counsel is testifying again. There’s absolutely no evidence on record to support that assertion.”
“Sustained,” the judge ruled firmly. “Counselor. Blackthorn, this is your second warning. Another outburst like that and you’ll be held in contempt.”
Richard shifted in his seat, adjusting his tie with manicured fingers. A subtle smile played at the corners of his mouth, confident and calculating. He leaned over to whisper something to Yuna, who nodded almost imperceptibly.
The three judges huddled over the document, their heads bent together in concentration. Whispers passed between them, too quiet for anyone else to hear. The younger female judge frowned deeply as she studied the report.
“The court will admit Defense Exhibit B,” the chief judge announced. “Counselor. Park, you may proceed.”
“Your Honor, with the court’s permission, I’d like to display the medical photographs contained in this report.”
