Chapter 53. Start Over

Sarah only slept for three hours. The next morning, she rushed to pack her clothes and asked Dean to take her and her Granny to Brooklyn. She was lucky that she still had money left in her account. The amount was a little enough for her to find a cheap place to live.

Janice and Mike let her go sadly, but they didn't ask too many questions, nor did Granny, who looked so easy as if she knew something like that would happen to them someday.

"Are you sure about your decision?" asked Dean as he drove Michael's SUV.

Sarah nodded, saying nothing.

"Is it because of that man? Matthew Sullivan?"

Sarah shook her head, "No, it's what I want," she answered honestly. She did it for herself because she wanted to be free from guilt. Guilt that she had because she ruined Matthew and his mother's relationship and guilt for covering up the fact that Vivian was involved in Benjamin's suicide.
