Chapter 9. Mastermind
“How dare you accuse us without any evidence!” Mia shouted, her big eyes almost popping out. Beside her, Harry, the second child, rubbed his wife’s back to calm her down.
Sarah smiled sarcastically, “What if I have proof?” she hissed as she looked at their faces one by one, looking for a frightening facial reaction. Yet their faces all looked the same, full of hatred and disgust.
“Vic,” called Benjamin, which made Sarah turn to him. Benjamin’s face was pale, “What makes you think that way?” he asked. He was shocked because Victoria accused his family of the crime she experienced.
Sarah’s lips trembled, and her eyes began to tear up again. “I can remember the incident very well. He forced me to drink alcohol until I could barely stand, and then, right in front of me, he spoke to someone on the phone. He called her Mrs. Abbot...”
