Chapter 29
"Do you like Apollo?" Artemis asked me a shocking question one day as we sat on the bleachers of the gymnasium. We watched Apollo and his friends play basketball that day.
I looked at Artemis, but he was just looking at the middle of the gymnasium, so I just looked there again. I saw Apollo pass the ball to Warren. Warren ran, but the opponent blocked him, so he passed it to Apollo again for free, and no one was watching. Apollo caught it and left it.
"Yes!" he shouted when the ball entered the ring. They high-fived as friends.
"And don't you dare lie to me, Daphne." Artemis said it again.
I saw Apollo turn toward us. He grinned and waved. I smiled and waved back at him.
"I'm sorry, Artemis." I said this as Apollo ran again so they could defend against the enemy. "I tried to stop myself. But I couldn't really avoid falling for him."
