Chapter 115. The Council
Orion’s POV
The silence in the courtyard was thick and entirely suffocating.
It stayed that way for a couple of minutes as everyone tried to process what they had just heard.
Until it cracked,
One of the lieutenants, Fae, could no longer keep silent. He took a deep breath, gathered his courage and did something he usually never did, but this wasn’t a usual time, nor was contacting the council a usual occurrence.
“T--The council?” Try as he could, he still wasn’t able to stop his words from coming out in a stutter, his voice itself carried both awe and fear at the mention of that name.
But no one laughed at his stutter. In fact, the silence itself grew more solemn.
The lieutenant beside him also muttered the name under his breath, but his voice was lower, as if the word was too dangerous to even say out loud.
