Lyra’s POV
Her day might have started badly, but the moment she spotted Lucien walking out of the shadows and under the dim light of the candle, she smiled. Mainly, because she knew she now had a real chance to get away from here.
If it was Aria walking towards her, she would have been scared.
But Lucien was a man.
And she knew how to control men.
At least, she believed so until her body slammed hard on the wall.
Disbelief and rage flooded through her, as she pushed herself up from the ground.
She glanced up, her eyes widening as she watched Lucien effortlessly rip a gate apart that she wasn’t even able to move.
As he stepped inside, she held her breath.
