Chapter 65. The Debt of Blood
Varion was barely done speaking when Alpha Alder practically vanished in a rush of pure fury.
In moments, he was in front of Varion, rage etched in his features as he raised the beta wolf up with one hand.
“Where is she?” he growled, his voice cracked like a whip.
Varion gulped, a shiver ran down his spine as he quickly answered, “She is back in the east quarters, in the guest wing. I helped the Vine wolves carry her over to Lady Lyra’s room.”
Alder was already out of the throne room before Varion could complete his sentence.
He couldn’t care less about Lilith, but he needed her alpha’s help, and he wasn’t going to let a little cursed bitch ruin his plan.
Honestly, his rage was a visage, a mask. He considered Lilith to be a scheming wolf who didn’t quite know her place. If this had happened any other time, he would have pretended not to see anything.
But the war was almost here, and he didn’t want anything to jeopardize that.
