‘Oh no, what do I do.’ she stared into his eyes which were changing emotions, and quickly understood what he was thinking. “C-Carl,” she whispered and attempted to move forward when her gaze landed on his hand and suddenly shouted, “NO!” Then ran as fast as she could toward him.

“What did you do to her!!!” Carl thundered as he pointed the gun which he had just retrieved from his pocket toward Jack’s forehead.

“Carl stop it!!! please, please, s-stop it.” Clara cried as she hugged his back and tried to drag him away fruitlessly, but he couldn’t budge. She looked toward Jack who was also facing the gun calmly and more tears flew down her face. ‘What have I done?’

“Don’t let me repeat myself,” Carl’s voice thundered inside the room and he started pulling the trigger slowly.
