Ezrah couldn’t comprehend why Zora would fake her death, so he didn’t attempt to investigate the matter. However, Lake’s revelation was an eye-opener. Even if it wasn’t the case, at least his curiosity would be satisfied.

He couldn’t shake off the memory of their argument on the night of the divorce. Could it be that Zora wanted him to be happy with Piper? Who told her that her death would make him happy? Or did she want to taunt him?

If not, why die right after the divorce? Lake was determined to get someone to look into the matter. “I will talk to someone, but I doubt how quickly we can get it. For now, I will make time to accompany you to the funeral. Let’s confront her family together. After all, they have no right to keep it from you.”

Ezrah shook his head bitterly, feeling like he had been deceived. No wonder Zora insisted on the divorce no matter how hard he tried to delay it. Then again, he had Piper, and that was his weakness.
