Chapter 81. Absolved

Carter stormed the precinct along with Emma, his eyes dark and filled with rage, yet he still maintained his equanimity and domineering attitude. 

“ Good day, sir ”. One of the cops greeted him, and he instantly spotted Liam together with his lawyer while Audrey had a handcuff on. Audrey was scorching with rage that he felt like her glare was going to kill him. 

“ What the hell is going on here!! ” he roared, causing them all to startle. “ Mr. Colton, you are here ”. One of the officers exclaims, and he extends his hand for a handshake, but Carter ignores him, walking straight to Audrey. He grabs the chair close to her, sitting close to her, he squeezes her hand softly, a tender gaze at her. 

“ How are you doing, did they hurt you? ”.

“ What do you care, weren't you the one who sent them to me? ”.

“ Why would you think I would do that to you, I am so sorry this happened, and I promise to make it righ”?
