Chapter 80. Arrested

The midwife gave a brisk glimpse at Chloe first who signaled her to speak, and then her entire focus was on Carter. “ We tried our best, but the fall was brutal, which caused excessive bleeding. I am sorry, but we lost the baby ”.

The midwife exclaims as she watches his expression. Carter let out a long sigh and lower his head, not sure of how to react to the news, but his thought was disrupted by the loud wailing that came from Chloe. 

“ Oh no, my poor baby, she didn't do anything to deserve this…. An innocent child who had no hand in the grudge she leaned against me, and yet, she chose to go about it this way ”.....

“ I will excuse you all ”. The midwife spoke and walked out of the ward, while Liam offered himself a seat, watching the scene that was unfolding before him. “ Chloe, you have to calm down, it has already happened, there is nothing that anyone can do about it ”.

“ Is this what you are going to say? Carter, I understand that she is your wife
