Chapter 31

Jeremy sighed and slammed his locker shut. It felt so different. No Kyle beside him to make jokes or gloat about something. Kyle had been absent from school since that terrible incident and Jeremy felt a bit empty. Sure, Mandy was present but there was something that Kyle brought to the clique that made them click.  

"Hey." 

Jeremy turned around tsee Mandy with her books to her chest.

"Hey." He nodded. 

"Still no word from him?" Mandy replied.

"He isn't picking his calls." Jeremy replied. " I tried to reach his home but it was locked."

"I guess he just needs time."

"Yeah." Jeremy nodded. "I just don't want him getting terrible thoughts. You know, being all alone."

Just then, the intercom in the hallway buzzed.

"Announcement students." It said. "Two weeks from now will be the annual students prom. So find your partners and get prepared."

Excited squeals rang out in the hallway as every student received the news
