Chapter 41

Jeremy stepped into the living room, closing the door behind him with careless abandon. It had been a long day in school and Gerard was right after all. He really had a lot to catch up on. With every thing that had been going on,coupled with the load of homework and projects, he prayed he wouldn't lose his sanity before the year ran out.

A delicious scent assaulted his nostrils and he smiled from the direction from which it emanated from. The kitchen. He followed the scent there.

June stood in front of the gas, busying herself with the cooking. Shiela stood beside her, panting eagerly at the food above.

"Welcome,dear." June said, without turning around. "How was school?"

"School sucked." Jeremy grumbled, making his way towards her. "How does one miss a month of activity and get piles of work as a reward?"

"Please tell me that was a rhetorical question." June glanced sideways to give him a blank look. "Where you expecting candies and treats in the first place?"
