Chapter 47
The sound of heavy knocks on the door roused Jeremy up from his sleep.
"Wake up, young man. Today's the day." The sound of his mother's voice at the other end was heard.
"Oh." He grumbled and covered himself with the sheets.
"Jeremy!" June's voice was firmer. "Get your lazy behind off that bed this minute!"
"Alright, fine. I'm up." He gritted his teeth tossing the covers off. "Happy now?"
"Very." Her voice was sickenly sweet at the other end. "Breakfast is in ten minutes. Get yourself prepared."
Jeremy waited until he heard her footsteps echo down the hallway.
"Yeah, right." He grinned and lay back on the bed.
As soon as he shut his eyes, a sudden weight was placed on top of him and he felt something wet on his face. He opened his eyes in annoyance.
"Really, Shiela?!" He frowned at the dog above him.
'Not on my watch, young one.' The dog barked. 'Off the bed.'
