Chapter 49

"Hey mum, I'm stepping out. Be back in a jiffy. " Lawrence announced as he, Jeremy and Mandy passed the kitchen where his mum was busy with the stove.

"Alright. Be back in time for lunch" She said.

They crossed the living room where Landon sat reading a newspaper.

"I'll be back soon,dad." Lawrence called out. "I want to introduce Jeremy and Mandy to the neighbourhood. "

"Alright." Landon replied with a wave of the hand, not taking his eyes off the newspaper.

"I don't get what that man sees in that paper. " Lawrence mumbled as he closed the door. 

Jeremy chuckled, adjusting the scarf he wore around his neck.

"Hey, come on." Mandy jabbed Lawrence. "He could be checking for some interesting news."

"Oh please." Lawrence scoffed as the trio began to all along the road. " Nothing interesting happens in this town anywhere. For a while now."

"That is until I came." Jeremy said.

Mandy and Lawrence gave him a look. That comment was unb
