“What are we going to do?” she asked while helping her talk to Tomas. She hissed and warned the feral man about attacking the old woman. Diana then stepped towards him and whispered something in his ear as she felt sorry for him. She looked into his eyes and kissed his forehead. "You're going to be fine, Tomas, I promise," she whispered. Tomas navy-blue eyes narrowed, and he growled so loudly that it hurt her ears. She clasped her hand against her pounding chest, sure her heart was going to punch its way out of her body and land at his animal-leather-covered feet.
